SSL Installation Guides, Learn How to Install SSL Certificate

Before installing SSL Certificate on your server, make sure you have completed the following process.

  • Generate CSR
  • Save Private key & CSR
  • Document validation (Only for EV & OV customers)
  • SSL Issuance
  • Download SSL Certificate Files

After finishing payment process, the first step is to generate the CSR, use our CSR Generator tool, add all correct details, which will give you the CSR and Private Key in encrypted form. Save this CSR and Private key in your directory. Now if you own a domain validated SSL Certificate, now validation documents are required. But in case of Organization & Extended validation certificate and code Signing certificate business documents are required by certificate authority for business validation. Complete the process and wait for CA’s answer. If your documents meet CA’s requirement they will issue your Certificate soon. After SSL issuance download your certificate files either from email or SSL provider’s dashboard. Please make sure to download intermediate certificate, root certificate, CA bundler files if required for installation. Now move next to install SSL Certificate. For SSL Installation you should require a dedicated IP address. If you are not able to get a dedicated IP address, you need to install SSL certificate on shared IP address by making use of SNI protocol (Server Name Indication) extension from cPanel. SSL Installation process is different based on server types and their versions, so you must read our SSL Installation guideline carefully. Here you can find SSL Installation guides for different web servers including Microsoft, Apache, cPanel, Tomcat, Plesk, Oracle, Zimbra, etc. including SSL Certificate authorities as GeoTrust, Comodo, DigiCert, Certum, RapidSSL, Symantec, Thawte, Global Sign, SwissSign, Entrust, etc.

One you finish the SSL installation process, don’t forget to use our SSL checker tool and review your SSL certificate installation.
