Even if hackers get their hands on your data, they cannot access it as your data will be encrypted using 256-bit encryption, which is close to impossible to decrypt. Steps to Enable SSL on iPhone for Incoming Emails
- On your iPhone, go to Settings.
- Tap on Mail or type Mail in the search to find it.
- Tap on Accounts to choose the email account you wish to secure using SSL.
- Choose the desired email account and tap on Advanced.
- Scroll to Use SSL and toggle the switch to the right to activate SSL.
- Select Server Port 993 and that’s about it.
Steps to Enable SSL on iPhone for Outgoing Emails
- On your iPhone, go to Settings.
- Tap on Mail or type Mail in the search to find it.
- Tap on Accounts to choose the email account you wish to secure using SSL.
- Choose the email account and tap on SMTP under Outgoing Mail Server
- Tap on Primary Server.
- Scroll to Use SSL and toggle the button to the right to activate SSL.
- The server port has to be set to 465.
- Now, tap Done at the top right corner to save the changes you just made.
Once you complete the steps above, restart your phone once for the SSL to take effect on your iPhone.
